M.Sc. or PhD Position
Position in the Area of Eddy Current Inspection of Materials for Application to Non-Destructive Evaluation
The Physics Department of the Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston, Ontario invites applications for graduate studies at the M.Sc. or Ph.D. level in the field of advanced eddy current phenomena for applications in the aerospace industry. The M.Sc. thesis topic will be related (but not restricted) to an investigation of experimental and/or computer based modelling of transient electromagnetic phenomena associated with applications of pulsed eddy current (PEC) to the inspection of multilayer conducting structures. This is a 'state-of-the-art' field of study, which has high demand in the aerospace and nuclear industries. Work will be performed in collaboration with Dr. C. Mandache at the Institute for Aerospace Research, National Research Council of Canada, Ottawa.
The successful candidate will have, or will shortly obtain, a B.Sc. or higher degree in Physics, Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Applied Math.
The closing date for the competition is 31 Aug 2012.
