Indeterminate Bilingual (BBB) Equity Diversity and Inclusion Officer

The Research Office at the Royal Military College of Canada (RMC) wishes to hire an indeterminate bilingual (BBB) Equity Diversity and Inclusion Officer (EDI). The successful candidate will have completed a Masters Degree in Gender Studies, Sociology, Anthropology, Human Rights, or Human Resources as related to Equity Diversity and Inclusion or a related discipline at the time of hiring. Experience in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in processes in an academic environment would be considered as an asset. An acceptable combination of education, training and experience will also be considered. The preferred start date is 1 December 2021.

The EDI Officer will report to the Vice-Principal Research and will work collaboratively with the broad academic community to develop and implement initiatives aimed at advancing equity, diversity and inclusion within the institution. RMC is committed to developing and maintaining an enriched and diverse environment and the EDI Officer will have a key role in this commitment. The EDI Officer will provide expert advice, develop and implement action plans as well as organise and deliver training session to promote Equity, Diversity and Inclusion within the institution. The EDI Officer will also liaise and participate in the promotion of EDI in community activities.

  • direct implementation of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion measures
  • experience in evaluation of systemic barrier in institutional processes
  • experience in development of administrative programs linked to EDI
  • experience developing and ensuring cultural competency in the workplace
  • experience with program evaluation, surveys and data analysis
  • experience with research environment
  • experience tri-Council EDI guidelines for institutions and individual researchers

The successful candidate is expected to communicate effectively orally and in writing, to be able to organize work, set priorities and identify viable solutions and meet deadlines and to implement new guidelines and policies. The position of the EDI Officer would be at the AS-04 level (Program and Administrative Services (PA)- ( with a salary range of $71,599-$77,368/year.
