Her courses of specialty concern the nineteenth-century French novel, links between literature and the arts, and Arabic Francophone literature.

She also has to her credit an essay, published in Nouvelles études francophones, on Amin Maalouf's novel, Origines. She collaborates with the literary magazine Nuit blanche to which she provides regular reports on Francophone novels written by authors of Arabic origin. Finally, she participates in numerous international and local conferences, such those of l'Association canadienne d'études francophones du XIXe siècle, Nineteenth Century French Studies Association, and Convergence group, chaired by Clive Thomson at Guelph University, Ontario.
