Major (ret’d) Karagianis joined the Department of Management in 2004 as a full-time military faculty member. After retiring from the Canadian Armed Forces in 2017 following 32 years of military service in the Royal Canadian Navy and Canadian Army, he currently serves as an assistant professor, civilian term faculty member, instructing strategic management, business ethics, advanced topics in management, case study analysis, entrepreneurship, and logistics management. He holds substantial professional expertise in military logistics management, and has served in a wide variety of military leadership contexts, including operational service with NATO. He has served on the national Board of Directors of the Chartered Institute of Transport in Canada, acquired P.Log certification with the Logistics Institute in Canada, and is an active member of the Academy of Management. He currently chairs the departmental academic review committee and coaches RMC’s Intercollegiate Case Competition Team, in addition to numerous other departmental responsibilities. Major (ret’d) Karagianis holds an ABD in Business Administration from the Haskayne School of Business and University Teaching Certification (UCalgary), a Master of Business Administration (Athabasca), and a Bachelor of Business Administration (SFU). He also holds dual Canadian-British citizenship.

Research Interests

Current research interests include indigenous management, business case methodologies, leadership dynamics, private-defence sector interrelations, and knowledge management.

He is currently investigating an indigenous management case for the Final Round of the Queen’s Intercollegiate Business Case Competition 2024.
