Le capitaine Arthur W. Gullachsen obtient une maîtrise en histoire de l’Université du Nouveau-Brunswick en 2005. Après s’être enrôlé dans les Forces armées canadiennes (FAC) à la fin 2006, il est affecté au 2e Bataillon, The Royal Canadian Regiment à la BFC Gagetown à la fin 2008. En 2013, le capitaine Gullachsen est ensuite sélectionné pour être inscrit à la liste de candidats aux études supérieures, et il est admis au programme de doctorat en histoire de l’Université Western à London, en Ontario. Il obtient son diplôme en 2016 et devient ensuite enseignant militaire au Collège militaire royal du Canada. Spécialiste de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, il compte parmi ses domaines d’expertise l’étude du remplacement de l’équipement et des pertes en personnel ainsi que les forces blindées allemandes aux derniers temps de la guerre. Il s’intéresse également à la puissance aérienne et à la puissance maritime au XXe siècle.
