M. Nikolas Gardner, Ph. D., est le titulaire de la chaire de leadership de la promotion de1965. Il est également président du programme d’études supérieures sur la guerre du CRMC. M. Gardner a déjà enseigné à l’université Salford, à Manchester (Royaume-Uni), au collège Mount Royal, à Calgary (Alberta) et au Air War College de l’aviation américaine, à Montgomery (Alabama), où il a été le premier directeur académique du Grand Strategy Program. En matière de recherche, M.Gardner s'intéresse notamment à la Première Guerre mondiale, à l'histoire impériale et militaire britannique et à la privatisation militaire. Il est l'auteur de l'ouvrage The Siege of Kut-al-Amara: At War in Mesopotamia, 1915-1916 (2014) et Trial by Fire: Command in the British Expeditionary Force in 1914 (2003). Il a également publié de nombreux chapitres de livres ainsi que des articles des revues comme War in History, The Journal of Military History, le Journal of Contemporary History, The Historian et le Journal of the Middle East and Africa. Ses projets de recherche actuels portent sur le rôle des entrepreneurs privés dans la politique étrangère britannique au Moyen-Orient pendant les années 1970.
