Brief History

Dr. DuQuesnay began working at RMC in 1992 as Assistant Professor, was promoted to Associate Professor in 1996, and to Professor in 2000. He served as Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering (2000-2003), and as Associate Head (Academic) 2006-2007. Dr. DuQuesnay graduated from BCIT with a diploma of technology (1979) and worked as a design draughtsman for Cominco Mining and Smelting in Trail, B.C. (1979 to 1981). After that, he studied as an undergraduate at the University of Waterloo, spending work terms performing structural steel design, and producing detail and assembly drawings for Armco Building Systems (1982 to 1983). Dr. DuQuesnay then became an undergraduate and post graduate researcher in the Fatigue Lab at the University of Waterloo from 1983 to 1992, while earning his BASc (1985), MASc (1986) and PhD (1991).
