Officer Cadet Recruit Joining Instructions 2019 Welcome Letter

Dear Future Officer Cadet,

On behalf of the Commandant, Brigadier-General Sébastien Bouchard, it is my honour to congratulate you on your selection to the Royal Military College of Canada (RMC).  It is a proud moment for you, and for Canada, as you embark upon a career in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF).  Doing so, through the demanding developmental and educational environment of RMC, is an unparalleled opportunity to establish an exemplary foundation in leadership, fitness, and bilingualism while attaining a world class undergraduate degree; less than four hundred Canadians receive this honour each year.

As the Director of Cadets, I am responsible for the military training, career progression, and your overall welfare as a member of RMC.  This letter is to provide you with information to introduce you to the College program and the expectations RMC has of you.

Aboriginal Leadership Opportunity Year (ALOY) Joining Instructions 2019

The Aboriginal Leadership Opportunity Year (ALOY) program is a program to give First Nation, Metis and Inuit young people an opportunity develop their leadership skills. ALOY will expose them to a rich and very proud military tradition at Royal Military College of Canada (RMC), to Aboriginal traditions and heritage as well as and preparing them for leadership roles.

The ALOY Cadets are measured against four components of the program, Military, Physical, Culture and Academic.

They will be challenged throughout the year in all components. RMC also offers a wide range of clubs and recreational activities. These clubs, which are normally organized and administered by Officer Cadets, provide an opportunity to participate in numerous military and civilian activities. Attending this program not only will they gain valuable lifelong skills but also friendships.
