Ana is a globally recognized expert in EDI and has a proven track record on mobilizing multimillion-dollar funding for socio-economic sector programming. Ana is a co-founder for Feminist Data and Research (FDR), a Canadian social enterprise aimed at solving the problem of reliable knowledge production on the African continent & globally. FDR has an affiliate in Washington DC and a technology hub located in Accra, Ghana that focuses on Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Women in Technology.

Ana’s most recent EDI assignments on behalf of Feminist Data and Research (FDR) included, but not limited to

  • 2021-2022 EDI Expert/Evaluator - Peel Regional Diversity Roundtable (RDR), which explored a model for building capacity of the Settlement Service providers and employers so that they weave the Anti-Racist, Anti-Oppressive, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ARAO-DEI) competency in their service delivery and serve diverse newcomers and immigrants to integrate successfully. Through this project, RDR engaged in collaborative research, developed standards, tools, and resources that support building inclusive practices at the frontlines of settlement and employment sectors.
  • 2021 Lead - City of Ottawa’s Women, Gender, Equity and Anti-Racism and Baseline Data Study. The key deliverables were a report with analysis, Data for Equity Strategy, the Data Work Plan, and concrete recommendations to inform the Women, Gender, Equity Strategy and the work of the Anti-Racism Secretariat.
  • 2019 Lead - Gender Based Analysis Plus Assessment and Gender Mainstreaming for the Government of St. Lucia
    The project funded by the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) provided expertise to the government of St. Lucia in gender, race, ethnicity, disability and overall intersectionality assessment in support of the Medium-Term Development Plan and the National Sustainable Development Plan. In support of the Division of Gender Relations (DGR) and in partnership with Gender Champions from Ministry of Economic Development (MOED), Ministry of Finance (MOF) + Ministry of Equity (MOEq), Sir Arthur Lewis Community College (SALCC), Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), Community Groups, Citizens, Industry Stakeholders developed the assessment strategy, conducted baseline studies and trained government stakeholders in gender mainstreaming and gender budgeting.

Ana worked for the United Nations, United Nations (UN) Development Program, and United Nations Development Fund for Women as well as World Vision and Save the Children on several assignments including UN Peacekeeping operations in Kosovo 1999-2004 and the Sierra-Leone Ebola response of 2014 to 2016.

Ana is an ABD in Economics at the New School for Social Research in New York, an alum of the School of International and Public Affairs of Columbia University in New York and Marketing and Communications Program of Emerson College in Boston.
