The fourth year chemical engineering students presented their design and build of miniature plant that fits inside a cubic foot! Their design is meant to purify at least 25 L of surface water per day. Power consumption is minimal to simulate the use of off-grid power sources such as solar or wind power.
Students in the Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Department travelled to Ottawa to visit the Hummingbird Chocolate Factory as one of the three stops on their academic tours. They also visited Vodkow Distillary in Almonte and Nano-Fabrication Kingston Laboratory.
Cadets had the opportunity to practice the art of glassblowing.
The Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Department was in a festive mood and opened their doors for the 7th annual Holiday Extravaganza. Staff and students from RMC community spent the afternoon enjoying science demonstrations, experiments and tours of the Nuclear Reactor Facility.
