In his graduate studies, Robert Paquet (B.A. in Linguistics and Literature, M.A. in Linguistics – Laval) focused on the linguist Gustave Guillaume’s “psychomechanics” of language. He first taught French as a second language in a private school before going on to teach linguistics, literature and French grammar at Université Laval and then at Queen’s University. He began teaching at the Royal Military College in 1997 in the Department of French, Literature and Culture, and joined the Language Centre in 1998. He has been the Language Centre Director since 2013.
