Originally from the south of France (where it’s way too hot!), Candice has been teaching French as a second language for over 30 years. After obtaining her teaching diploma in the UK, she taught there for 16 years, and then went on to teach for 15 years in New Brunswick, where she mentored French immersion teachers and helped create the new elementary school immersion program. She has been a teacher at the Royal Military College of Canada in Ontario for the past two years, where she continues to share her love of the French language with benevolence, energy and good humour. Candice firmly believes that anyone can learn a language, as long as they’re not afraid to make mistakes, and are willing to laugh a little (or a lot) and have fun along the way. She always tries to give lively, interactive courses grounded in reality, with a healthy dose of good humour. Outside the classroom setting, she is actively involved in causes close to her heart, such as the rights of LGBTQ+ people and the protection of women and children from domestic violence. And when she’s not planning a new teaching activity or some off-the-wall grammar game, she dreams of revisiting the gentle mists and tea rooms of her beloved England.
