Claudia Labrosse holds a master’s degree and a doctorate in French literature from the University of Ottawa, where she worked under Lucie Hotte. She is interested in how the body engages with and transforms writing in contemporary Quebecois and French Canadian novels, highlighting its dual nature as both an object and subject of writing. Having co edited collective works as well as numerous articles on the “somatization” of the text by the body, Claudia also received a postdoctoral fellowship (2009–2011) for her project on the representation of female beauty in the works of Quebecoise novelists dating back to 1980. She conducted her research in the French Department at Carleton University under Patricia Smart. She has worked as an assistant professor in the Department of Modern Languages at the University of Winnipeg (2013–2014), and she has been teaching at the Royal Military College of Canada since 2016. Claudia now devotes herself to teaching French as a second language and to pursuing her passions, which include reading, writing and outdoor activities in the beautiful Thousand Islands region.
