Cécilia Cussonneau hails from Angers, France, where she obtained a master’s degree in applied foreign languages (English, Spanish and Russian) for trade and business. She also has some knowledge of Italian and Arabic. She subsequently completed her training by studying cultural mediation. It was while working as a cultural mediator at a fine arts museum in Normandy, France, that she developed a taste for teaching.
When she arrived in Canada in 2008, she first lived in Calgary and then moved to Kingston. She taught French at the Kingston Garrison language school, where she also held the position of pedagogical advisor. On the strength of that experience, she began teaching French at RMC Kingston in 2018. She is particularly fond of etymology and strives to spark her students’ curiosity.
Ms. Cussonneau is interested in art in general and particularly enjoys painting in her spare time and wandering around museums.
