Instructions for Thesis Submission for Graduate Students at RMC Kingston
Thesis Preparation Guidelines
As outlined in the RMC Kingston's Division of Graduate Studies and Research's Thesis Preparation Guidelines, graduate students are required to submit their thesis electronically to RMC Kingston's digital repository, eSpace. Graduate students must also submit two paper copies of their to the library for binding.
Please consult the Guidelines for information on format, layout, etc. For print copies use a good quality acid-free paper with 25% cotton content or more and no more than 20lb weight. Other paper, such as vellum or card stock, may be inappropriate for the binding process and the bindery may refuse to bind the thesis
Electronic Submission
Once they have successfully defended their thesis, graduate students are responsible for submitting it to eSpace, RMC Kingston's digital repository. If you have questions about this process, a library staff member can help. The electronic version is considered the primary, or original, version of the thesis. It will be harvested by Library and Archives Canada for inclusion in their digital collection.
Binding of Paper Copies
Paper copies of theses are sent to the bindery when there are enough theses for a shipment. The library requires two copies of the thesis and also a completed copy of the form below:
- Thesis Binding Checklist (PDF Version, 66 KB)
Once bound, the two copies will be returned to the department, for distribution to the author and the thesis supervisor.
If the author or the department wishes to have additional copies bound, it will be at their own expense. Please contact the bindery to arrange this. The library can provide the bindery's contact information.
