Collections:
Massey Library is located in the Massey building. The collection includes a large number of print books and journals, plus a substantial collection of e-resources in both English and French and a variety of other languages. Subject areas include:
- Engineering
- History
- Literature
- Military subjects
- Sciences
A major part of the print collection is the Spurr Military Collection, an extensive collection of books that cover all aspects of military studies.
The library's rare book collection contains a variety of unique historical diaries, books, manuscripts, and other works of value, generally of a Canadian and/or military nature.
The Reginald E. Watters Memorial Collection includes first editions of nineteenth and twentieth-century Canadian literature, with particular emphasis on works that reflect military and wartime experience.
The Crerar collection is a collection of holdings from various public, government, and military libraries in Germany that was assembled at the end of World War II, covering a variety of subjects. This collection also includes technical pamphlets from the three branches of the German military, as well as technical and geographic maps.
The RMC Archives include personal papers of former RMC professors and prominent military figures, plus historical papers and documents that pertain to RMC, such as old photo albums of cadets.
The library's main floor houses the library's print reference collection. In addition, recent issues of print journals and daily newspapers are available in the reading area.

Most of the main floor is the RMC Learning Commons. This area is open 24 /7 and offers access to scanners, printers, computer work stations and terminals. At one end of the floor are the offices of various services for students and staff: the Success Centre and the Writing Centre.
On the second floor is located the library's regular collection of politics, history, religion, philosophy, economics, law, music, sociology and psychology books (call nos.: A - P106). The Leadership Library Collection, presented to RMC by the Class of 1956, has a prominent place in the Leadership Collection Reading Room, Rm. 201.
The lower level houses the rest of the library's collection, which covers subjects such as literature, the sciences, engineering, and also military and naval science (call nos.: P107 - Z).
In room 30 there is the library’s print collection of military journals.
Facilities:
The main floor of the library has 3 look-up stations (no need to logon) for quick access to the Internet, 10 computer workstations and two printer/scanners.
The computer workstations offer access to the Internet, the RMC Network, and various printers. Other areas of the library provide access to a microform reader/scanner, and a device charging station. Note that the RMC-NET campus Wifi is available in the Library; however, there is no public/commercial Wifi connection.
To return or sign out materials, or for research help, come to the Access Services Desk.
On the second floor there is the Leadership Reading Room which has comfortable armchairs as well as tables and chairs. For special events, such as invited speakers, class presentations, etc. the room must be booked (ask at the Access Services desk) Otherwise, the room is a study area for students. On this floor there is also a smaller study room and a quick look-up station for access to the internet and the library catalogue.
