Dr. Douch obtained his M.Sc. (2001) and Ph.D. (2006) degrees from the Université de Québec à Montréal in the fields of Macroeconomics and Financial Economics. Mohamed is a Professor of Economics at the department of Management and Economics, Royal Military College of Canada since 2006. He is a member of the American Economic Association, the Canadian Economic Association and a research fellow at the Centre for International and Defence (CIDP) and at the John Deutsch Institute for the Study of Economic Policy (JDI), Queen's University.

Prof. Douch's primary research interests include Macroeconomics, Monetary Policy Analysis, Financial Economics, Econometrics and Defence Economics and Security. Mohamed presented numerous papers at international conferences with a recent involvement in the Military Expenditure Expert Workshop at SIPRI in Stockholm, Sweden. He published numerous articles in the fields of Macroeconomics, financial economics and defense economics. Mohamed is also a guest editor and reviewer for number of international journals including recent contributions to the Defense and Peace Economics journal and the Economics of Peace and Security Journal both as an author and reviewer.

Courses taught include undergraduate and graduate classes in macroeconomics, microeconomics, econometrics, and statistics at both UQAM and RMC.
